Nurse Practitioner Lynn Dawes and Caroline Walker are our Advanced Nurse Practitioners who are available daily for telephone advice and to see patients.

Practice Nurse We have three Practice Nurses who are available by appointment.  The services they offer include cervical smears, travel advice and vaccinations, injections, minor injuries treatment, contraception advice, smoking cessation, weight management and well person checks.

Weight Management appointments are available weekly with the Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistants.

Diabetic Clinic appointments are available weekly with the Practice Nurse.

Respiratory Medicine Clinic is available to monitor the care of patients with asthma or COPD.

Smoking Cessation Clinic is available by appointment with the Healthcare Assistants or Practice Nurse.

Heart Disease Clinic appointments are available weekly with Coronary Heart Disease Nurse to monitor the care of patients with coronary heart disease.

Ante-Natal Clinic appointments are available with the midwife on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Child Development Clinic The Doctors within the practice carry out developmental checks on babies at approximately six weeks of age.  Thereafter, the Health Visitor is available for all further checks and is supported by the Doctors.

Child Health Health Visitors are available for childhood immunisations and development checks.

Family Planning All the doctors and the nurse practitioner are happy to give advice on family planning.

Hypertension (high blood pressure) Clinicthe Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistants are available by appointment to check your blood pressure and offer lifestyle advice as necessary to help in the detection and management of this widespread condition.

 New Patient Check  We offer new patient health checks to all newly registered patients.

Dietary Advice  The Practice Nurse is available by appointment for advice regarding diet.

Counsellor  Counselling services are available to patients by referral.

Minor Surgery minor operations are available for the injection of painful joints and the removal of problems such as warts and minor lumps and bumps.

Blood Tests  We have two Healthcare Assistants with appointments available daily, morning and afternoon.

Travel Advice The nurses are happy to give advice, by appointment, on vaccination and other health requirements for foreign travel. Following appropriate assessment vaccinations can be scheduled, for some of which there may be a charge. Please note that for some courses of treatment to be effective they need to be started up to 6 weeks before travel – please don’t leave making an appointment to the last minute!

Medication Review Clinic Run by our pharmacist Joanne Lambert.

Midwife Team Will look after you during your pregnancy with regular reviews at the surgery.

Chaperones Chaperones during appointments will be offered by a clinician as appropriate.  This service is also available on request.

Training Please note the practice undertakes nursing and medical students as well as F2 doctors.
